AR BOOK TEST DUE FRIDAY, JANUARY 30th. NO EXCEPTIONS. You should really have it done already or before then. It was assigned January 5th, mentioned almost everyday in class, and at school reading time was given.

We will be making a few adjustments due to the shortened work week...
We will begin a 20 word spelling list this week. The PRACTICE TEST for this list will be FRIDAY, Jan 23rd. The ACTUAL TEST will be WEDNESDAY, Jan 28th. If you would like to practice this list on Spelling City...Click Here.
We will have a 10 word Vocabulary list and a reader story this week, which we will test on this Friday unless I feel like we need more time to cover the material. If you would like to practice the vocabulary words on quizlet....Click Here. If you would like to read this week's story online find "The Sons of the Dragon King" here.

ALL students should have an AR Book read and tested on by January 30th. NO EXTENSIONS, NO EXECEPTIONS. You may read/test a second book and "Tweet" about it. The bonus points from the Tweet will be added to your AR Score.

I apologize for not having this post up yesterday! This week we are resuming a more normal schedule complete with spelling and vocabulary. This lists can be found under the weekly objectives tab to the right of this post. We are continuing our study of folktales by reading a Native American legend in our reader this week as we also review some reading skills learned in the first semester.
AR Assignment for the month of January is simply read a free choice book and take a test by Jan. 30. We will be doing a written response to a folktale in class later in the month, so I didn't want the AR assignment to have a written element. THANKS!

WELCOME BACK!
This week we will not have spelling or vocabulary words, those will start next week.
We will be going over our mid-year benchmark results together to learn from our mistakes and discuss some testing strategies. We will also begin working on folktales...fun stuff like tall tales, fables, fairy tales and such! :)
