Spirit of Giving
In our reading story this week Maggie, a girl from the US, sends a care package of school supplies to a school in Chile where her pen pal, Max, attends. An earthquake has caused great damage to the school and she, with the help of her friends, generously gives to help them out. In the same spirit, our class in putting together a care package of school supplies and sports equipment to send to an orphanage in Africa. We are blessed beyond measure here at our school and have everything we need to learn and have fun at school. We would like to share with those that are less fortunate. If you would like to donate to the care package, please send school supplies or sports items to school by Monday, December 3rd. If you would like to just send money, that would be appreciated as well. It can be used toward postage or to buy more items. Thank you for helping our class learn about giving unselfishly and our responsibilities as citizens of a global community to help others in need.

Plot Summary

- Wanted (What the character wanted)
- But (The conflict or problem the character encountered)
- So (The solution to the problem)
We made flip books to summarize the story A Turkey for Thanksgiving by Eve Bunting...

Mr. Moose wanted to catch a turkey for Thanksgiving, but the turkey ran away, so he captured him and dragged him home.
