January 11-15

There will be a vocabulary test and spelling test on January 15th. 

You guys did a GREAT job on the Greek word parts last week...this week we move on to Latin. The vocabulary test will cover the meaning of the 42 most common Latin word parts. A list will be handed out Monday in class so you can begin studying. To practice on Quizlet click HERE.

The spelling test will be over the following ten words that use Latin roots:

1. aquarium              6. intercept
2. bifocal                  7. multiply
3. contradict             8. nonprofit
4. ejected                 9. predict
5. fragile                 10. transmit

In the spring we will be doing a novel unit over the book The Westing Game. This month the Scholastic Book Club is offering a paperback copy of the book for $1. If your child would like their own book to use during our unit please send money to school by January 22nd. I will have a set of books available in our classroom, so this is not required. If you would like to purchase one additional copy for our classroom it would be greatly appreciated.
